Inspection & observation
Exploring aerial tools for infrastructure imagery, site documentation, and visual or thermal inspection workflows.
Canadian commercial & defence ambitions
A vision for Canadian drone and autonomous-systems technology—supporting industry, public safety, and the people entrusted with Canada’s defence.

Our commercial focus
Our starting point is a simple question: what does the mission actually need? These are the areas we intend to explore.
Exploring aerial tools for infrastructure imagery, site documentation, and visual or thermal inspection workflows.
A development approach centred on maintainable platforms, adaptable payloads, and clearly documented configurations.
Evaluating non-weaponized applications for situational awareness, emergency planning, and infrastructure monitoring.
JAWB Defence
We intend to explore non-weaponized military drone applications that help personnel observe, train, and assess their surroundings. Our aim is practical capability, accountable development, and supportable equipment.
Assessing visual and thermal imaging concepts for situational awareness and reconnaissance support. Sensor performance and operating limits would be established through testing.
Exploring requirements for observation in northern and remote environments. Cold-weather endurance, communications range, and environmental resilience remain development goals—not established capabilities.
Considering maintainable aircraft concepts for operator familiarization, exercises, and controlled field trials, with an emphasis on repeatable procedures and documented results.
Exploring modular sensor interfaces, traceable components, maintenance documentation, and repair workflows to support a potential fleet throughout its service life.
Engage prospective users and potential industry partners to identify a focused, non-weaponized first application.
Use staged prototypes, documented trials, and clear acceptance criteria to assess suitability.
Plan legal, security, procurement, and support reviews before offering a system for operational use.
The meaning behind the name
JAWB takes its name from Jessica, Amanda, Wesley, and Beth—the founder’s four children.
It is more than a corporate acronym. It is a reminder of why we build: to create something worthwhile, take pride in our work, and contribute to the world the next generation will inherit.
Our development philosophy
Start with user needs. Prioritize useful performance, maintainability, and clear operating limits over impressive-sounding claims.
Make testing, documentation, and honest communication central to commercial and defence development.
Plan for safety, privacy, human oversight, and applicable requirements from the outset—not as an afterthought.
Validate a focused first application before expanding into new platforms, sectors, or markets.
JAWB Aerospace
A family-inspired vision for practical commercial and defence drone technology—and a future worth building.
